The Gulf Comprehensive Center (Gulf CC) will assist the Florida Department of Education (FDOE) in the implementation of benchmark-aligned high-quality instruction in reading and mathematics statewide. Staff from the Gulf CC will assist in professional learning around evidence-based practices in both reading and mathematics for state, regional, district, and school leaders. The project team in collaboration with its state partners expects to achieve several short-term (1 year), medium-term (2-3 years), and long-term (4+ years) outcomes as described below.
Expected Outcomes
- Short-Term Outcomes
- Increased knowledge, communication, and alignment of the statewide vision for FDOE staff related to benchmark-aligned high-quality Tier 1 instruction for pre-K-12 mathematics and reading (English Language Arts [ELA])
- Increased knowledge of benchmark-aligned high-quality instruction for consortia-, district-, and school-level personnel and the ability to implement it effectively
- Medium-Term Outcomes
- Developed and planned activities by FDOE toward an aligned statewide vision related to benchmark-aligned high-quality Tier 1 instruction regarding mathematics and reading (ELA)
- Increased capacity for consortia-, district-, and school-level personnel to support benchmark-aligned high-quality instruction in mathematics and reading through effective implementation
- Long-Term Outcomes
- Increased capacity of FDOE staff to implement, sustain, and scale the aligned statewide vision related to benchmark-aligned high-quality Tier 1 instruction regarding mathematics and reading (ELA) through interoffice collaboration and planning
- Increased capacity for consortia-, district-, and school-level personnel to implement, sustain, and scale benchmark-aligned high-quality instruction in mathematics and reading through effective implementation
