The Gulf Comprehensive Center (Gulf CC) will assist the Florida Department of Education (FDOE) to establish a professional learning marketplace with the goal of strengthening teacher instructional practices and student outcomes. The project team in collaboration with its state partners expects to achieve several short-term (1 year), medium-term (2-3 years), and long-term (4+ years) outcomes as described below.
Expected Outcomes
- Short-Term Outcome
- Increased knowledge and understanding for FDOE staff of (a) steps to develop and implement a professional learning marketplace and (b) evidence-based components of effective professional learning consistent with state law
- Medium-Term Outcome
- Implemented policies and practices in place to review and approve programs and resources submitted to the state professional learning marketplace
- Long-Term Outcomes
- Refined policies and practices to review and approve programs and resources submitted to the state professional learning marketplace
- Revised self-sustaining policies and practices in place to review and approve additional programs and resources submitted to the state professional learning marketplace
- Demonstrated increased alignment of district professional learning systems with effective evidence-based professional learning criteria consistent with state law
